SGM Bikers Choice Awards 2008
The 2008 SGM Bikers Choice Awards Show was the first-ever ceremony
of it’s kind held in the great state of North Carolina. This was
definitely an event to remember for all surrounding motorcycle clubs
who represented in attendance that evening. The show, which was held
on October 11, 2008 at the Holiday Inn Bordeaux in Fayetteville,
North Carolina, was organized by Shifin Gearz Magazine’s CEO/Manager
and President of Xtreme Street Riders in Raleigh NC Ms. Nicole
“Icey” Williams, Assistant Manager Ms. Shauvon “V-boogie” Wright,
Marketing Director Mrs. Angela “AB” Bassey along with the hard work
and commitment of the SGM Street Team Managers and Street Team
members. This extravagant and unforgettable event was hosted by
none other than M-1 “Murda” of Turning Point MC, Raleigh, North
Carolina. A welcome and introduction speech was given by Ms. Icey as
an opening to the evening’s awards show.
Shifin Gearz Magazine was created to cater to motorcycle clubs of
the Carolinas. That night SGM celebrated and showed recognition to

and evening gowns which made it most fitting for such and
extravagant evening. The event was catered and provided bartenders
to serve your needs throughout the evening. Special guest
appearances and presenters were the highlights of the evening and a
featured video of the infamous Urban Street Legend himself, Wink
1100 which featured one of his latest stunts. Also in attendance
was Queen Isis of Darkside Racing from Atlanta Georgia. M-1
entertained the audience with his heightened enthusiasm and colorful
introductions of the presenters to the stage. The evening progressed
with presenters who were accompanied on stage by members of the SGM
Staff and categories/nominees were announced. Envelopes were handed
to presenter from the SGM model and the categories’ winner was
announced. Each winner came to the stage congratulated by the
presenters and handed an elegant glass engraved award for the 2008
SGM Bikers Choice Award. Winners were chosen by online voting
through SGM’s website for months prior to the October 11th awards
show. Through much participation from motorcycle clubs throughout
the Carolinas, the winners were selected from nominated categories
by majority votes. Many clubs won several awards as well as
individual members from their club. Some of them included K9 and K9
Too’s of Fayetteville, QT’s of Raleigh, Xtreme Street Riders of
Raleigh, and multitude of winners out of Turning Point MC.
As the awardees have all been recognized the Awards Show was
concluded with an invitation to the After Party in appreciation to
the attendees of the evening’s festivities. Many changed their
attire and were ready to kick back, drink and with DJ Smooth on his
1’s and 2’s get crunk on the dance floor. With the night ending as
many retired to their hotel rooms and some returning to their
journey back to their prospective cities, one thought lingers in
many minds; what club will be nominated for 2008 SGM welcomes the MC
community’s feedback and looks forward to the preparation of the
