Shifin Gearz Mag Hosts Team Powersports' Smithfield Location Grand
Opening

We are Shifin
Gearz in your direction and if you blink you might miss it. But
incase you didn’t hear what SGM and Team Powersports had going on
this past weekend; you might want to read about now. On Saturday,
August 16, 2008, Shifin Gearz Magazine successfully held their 2nd Annual Female Unity Ride for Divas for a Cure which is a Breast
Cancer Organization, after being rained out from previous dates. SGM’s mission was to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
Registrants got a lapel pin or patch for their participation. This
ride was not accompanied by the ladies alone, but also by several
male riders who wanted to give the same support. Riders came from
the SE (Fayetteville, NE (Wilson, Rocky Mount and Greenville) and NC
(Durham, and Raleigh) regions of the State meeting at a local Burger
King to unite in a 3 mile ride through the town of Smithfield.
The Female Unity Ride did not note the end of the evening as many
clubs and non-club affiliates gathered to celebrate the Grand
Opening of Team Powerpsorts in Smithfield.
There was music, food, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies that were
to be awarded for the Bike Show and Burnout Contest. V-boogie, SGM
staff and Xtreme Street Rider member, diligently got things underway
along with other SGM members as the legendary Mr.954, Turning
Point’s President and owner of 459 Powersports, was on the mic
keeping the crowd informed of the evening festivities.
As the riders who participated in the charity ride were served food
and refreshments, big “shout out” to Fenix from Xtreme Street Riders
for holding it down as the master chef, other clubs were signing the
guestbook and signing up for the Bike Show. The categories were
grouped by cc class; 600-750cc, 900-1000cc and 1100-1400cc including
custom.
Ballots were handed out to all club members and supporters as they
started eyeing the specifics and spectaculars of the individual
bikes lined up for the Show. Some chromed out, some with unique
colors and custom designs, some stretched and lowered and then some
were just plain....HOTT!
Out of 13 clubs signed in, there were 20 bike entered in the Bike
show. After tallying the ballots, the winners were announced.
Fayetteville represented strong and took home several trophies from
1st to 3rd places in the 3 categories.
The finale of the evening was the Burnout Contest and 1st place was
given, to none other than Mr. 954. As he showed his skills burning
rubber from one end of the strip to the other, he was accompanied by
Icey, Shifin Gearz Mag’s own CEO and Founder, as together they wooed
the crowed with endless smoke signals. Ms. Icey took possession of
the bike and bedazzled onlookers to prove, no doubt, that females
can burn rubber too as she disappeared into a cloud of white smoke.
So with that said, all is well that ends well, and it did with Mr.
954 finishing off the burnout contest with burning rubber til there
wont no rubber left to burn. Yes ladies and gents, he burned the
rubber completely off the rim. You want to bet that Smithfield never
seen anything like that?
The smoke clears and the evening had come to an end. Giving thanks
to the MC family and friends who came to support a combined event of
the SGM Female Unity Ride for Breast Cancer and the Grand Opening of
Team Powersports of Smithfield and wishing them well on their
journey back home. Clean up crew ready and in place as tents and
chairs are being broke down. All is well and the day is done. So be
on the look out in your area for the next event. Don’t read about
it, be about it, because you never know when we will be Shifin Gearz
in your direction!
