Outcast MC speaks out to the
North Carolina
Motorcycle Community
When
the question was asked who wanted to interview someone from the
Outcast Motorcycle Club (MC) North Carolina, I was hesitant to
accept the assignment. After arrangements were made, I was given the
go ahead to call the president of Outcast MC North Carolina. It took
me a minute to get the nerve up to call him. Of course my
nervousness was based off of stories that had been circulating
around the MC community. I finally called him or shall I say I
called Thunder, President of Outcast MC NC. After hearing his voice,
and I must say what a nice voice it was, my nerves finally settled.
I started the call with a few formalities to get to know each other
so the interview could flow easily.
Now to get down to business, I asked Thunder what Outcast MC wanted
the North Carolina community to know about them. Without much
thought Thunder’s first response was, “We are not a bully club!” We
are a big brother club in the community. We are approachable and
want to ride and party like everyone else. Outcast is here because
we are necessary and not here for our personal gain. We want the
motorcycle clubs here in NC to know and understand is that there are
rules and regulations to being a motorcycle club. Thunder made sure
I understood he also has to answer to someone when he breaks the
rules. And just like in the real world, he is punished for breaking
the rules and right now he feels that some clubs that exist now are
breaking the rules. “We basically or shall I say I just want to
educate the clubs and make it possible to coincide on one accord
here in North Carolina” said Thunder.
We talked about Outcast MC NC’s vision and how they plan on bringing
the community on one accord. Thunder stated that everything he does
as a President has meaning and works towards the Outcast vision,
which is to bring more unity to NC and the MC world. Most clubs he
said have the vision to start an organized motorcycle club; but they
don’t know how to keep the vision. They just don’t have the proper
leadership or guidance to help get them closer to that vision. We
have been around for years and have been using the same rules and
regulations to keep the peace between ourselves and other motorcycle
clubs. “I truly believe that if you can’t follow the rules you
shouldn’t be a motorcycle club,” said Thunder. Thunder believes that
if Outcast educates the masses we can all achieve our common goal as
one big biker family and enjoy the feeling that bikers get from
riding. When asked, how he was going about the task of educating
riders, Thunder stated that he was traveling around North Carolina
meeting with club members. Since this interview he has had to two
different meetings. The first meeting was about club structuring and
the second was for club leadership. Some of the clubs have definite
leadership issues. Thunder stated, “Everyone is not born a leader
and should not be put in that leadership role because of who he or
she knows or because of who their friends are.” When clubs begin
with the wrong leader, they tend to not last long. Some clubs are
formed today but are gone by the end of the year.
You have members who instead of working on the issues inside of
their clubs branch off to start another club without having the
know-how or guidance to do so. Thunder understands that no one
really knows the rules of the game because truthfully the rules of
motorcycle clubs have never been written down. So with that being
said, because Outcast MC has been around for more than 40 years with
the NC chapter being in existence since 1994, Thunder felt that as
President of all North Carolina motorcycle clubs that he should be
the one to get those understood rules in writing. Thunder had six
simple rules, yes people, only six, I bet you are saying what are
those six rule and my answer to you would be attend the next meeting
to find out. With me being a social club member and of course I must
rep my club K9 Social Club of Fayetteville, NC!!!! We are the
“Socially Defined!” Now back to our regularly scheduled interview.
I chuckle as I type this. I asked Thunder how he felt about social
clubs. “I have no problem with social clubs,” exclaimed Thunder,
“without social clubs some of these clubs wouldn’t have lasted
nearly as long as they have.” He believes that social clubs are
needed in your world. What he has a problem with is social clubs
getting in biker’s business. Let me clear that up for you. Social
clubs (SC) supporting the MC community is great. The bike world
survives because of external and internal supporters.
What Thunder wants to make clear is if you are going to hang in the
motorcycle world, understand the rules and etiquettes of the world.
It is okay that for one reason or another that we don’t ride or for
some SC members ride but don’t want to join a MC we just need to
learn the rules of the game. So social clubs if we are going to
co-exist with the bike community we must get educated just like
everyone else. In other words we also play a part in the bike
community coming together on one accord.
The third of four meetings all together is being held in
Fayetteville, NC on July 25th at the Bee’s Nest (for more
information go

). This meeting will be about safety. Thunder is requesting all
clubs motorcycle and social clubs be present at this meeting. Both
Thunder and I agree (and I’m sure you do too) that there are too
many accidents occurring causing from little scratches to serious
injuries to ultimately death. Thunder is tired of losing bikers due
to carelessness of either a 4-wheeled driver or the 2-wheeled rider.
In preparation for the upcoming meeting, Thunder attended (as of
press time) an Accident Management Class in Atlanta. In tune with
the coming on one accord, Outcast MC NC feels that if all riders use
the same signals there won’t be confusion when a situation occurs.
To get the word out, Thunder is requesting all presidents,
vice-presidents, and road-captains at this meeting. Actually, he
said, “Bring the whole cabinet because if you send one person you
get that one person’s interpretation to put out information. But if
you send your cabinet you get at least five different
interpretations which will eventually end with what was actually
said”. I had to agree with his reasoning behind that statement.
Near the end of our conversation, I asked Thunder was there anything
else he wanted the readers to know about Outcast MC NC. Thunder took
this moment to talk about Outcast’s website (currently under
construction). One of the features on the website will include the
out of work biker’s fund. The funds are used to help support riders
who have lost their jobs during these hard economic times. Using
donations Outcast will provide gas cards and pre-paid money or
credit cards. “Most charities that help the needy provide food and
clothing, but never gas money, so they can look for work,” explained
Thunder. To go along with the fund, riders will be able to post
their resumes on the site. Riders who own a business will be able to
provide other riders with jobs. These services will be extended
across the US. At press time, Thunder was working out the details on
being able to mail the donated cards free. As my hand began to get
writer’s cramp, I thanked Thunder for the interview. Thunder quickly
responded with instead of your welcome, he said, “No, Thank you for
giving me the chance to get the word out.”
I hope that by reading this article you are looking at what Outcast
is trying to do. If you have any questions, comments or concerns

staff member respond back to you.
